Field Programme Manager, South Sudan
People in Need (PIN) is the Czech Republic based NGO that helps people in emergencies, both in crises of war as well as in areas affected by natural disasters, and in places where it is hard for people to break out of the vicious circle of poverty without support.See more at www.peopleineed.cz.
PIN has been working in South Sudan since 2012, mainly focusing on reintegration of returnees, agriculture, livelihoods, WASH and resilience building in Northern Bahr el Ghazal Province, and on IDP relief operation in Juba.
Starting date: 1 June 2014
Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension
Location: South Sudan, Aweil, Northern Bahr el Ghazal
Field Programme Manager (FPM), South Sudan
The FPM will be responsible for all stages of implementation of 1) CHF funded project focusing on basic veterinary services and fishing support, 2) Czech MFA funded project focusing on agriculture, WASH at schools and infrastructure protecting from floods through cash for work, and 3) agriculture project funded from PIN´s private resources. FPM is also expected to actively seek for new projects and funding opportunities, and therefore conduct needs assessments and write project proposals.
Main responsibilities:
· Fully responsible for above outlined projects´ implementation
· Management of local team Reporting
· Field security management
· Liaison and coordination with local partners, INGOs, UN agencies, authorities and any other relevant actor
· Needs assessments
· Preparation of concept notes and full project proposals
Main requirements:
· NGO experience in relief and development programming, preferably in agriculture or livelihoods and/or other relevant sectors
· Experience in program management including field logistics and security
· Knowledge of donors´ requirements
· Reliable and independent personality
· Experience with management of the field teams
· Ability to live and work in a very challenging environment
· Strong motivation and cultural sensitivity
· Excellent spoken and written English essential
· Experience in complex emergency settings required, previous regional experience highly desirable
