To support our country office in Juba/South Sudan, Malteser International is looking for an experienced Country Administrator.

As Country Administrator you will be responsible for the financial and administrative management of the South Sudan program and for ensuring the implementation of Malteser and donor standards. The Country Administrator supports the program teams and the Country Coordinator in all financial and administrative issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and update of location and project budgets in coordination with the Country Coordinator and Program Coordinators
  • Monitoring and supervision of the financial management of all locations
  • Ensuring implementation and compliance with Malteser and Donor regulations and methods in finance and administration management
  • Supervision and monitoring of the monthly administration reports of all locations
  • Ensuring timely and correct financial donor reporting in coordination with the Country Coordinator
  • Supporting and ensuring the implementation of Malteser standards in the field of administration and human resources
  • Training on the job on financial and administrative management for staff in all locations by visiting them on a frequent basis

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Working experience in administration and financial management of humanitarian aid and development projects
  • Knowledge of different donor requirements (EU, USAID, BMZ etc.)
  • Fluency in English, German desirable
  • Fully computer literate (knowledge of bookkeeping systems desirable)
  • Prepared to work with limited resources and under difficult circumstances
  • High personal engagement, flexibility, communication skills as well as ability to work in a team
  • Physical and mental strength, sensitivity for other cultures

Conditions:

  • Start date: preferably by 1st September 2014
  • Duty station: Juba, South Sudan, with frequent travel to field offices
  • Duration of contract: minimum 2 years (extendable)
  • Salary according to qualification and experience, insurance package, accommodation in team house, one flight home/year
