Objective of the Programme:

The main purpose of the programme is to improve the land governance system in South Sudan in line with the VGGT and the AF&G through building the capacity of the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Physical Planning and of other key land related stakeholders in South Sudan.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strengthening the legal, institutional and administrative framework responsible for land governance in South Sudan.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in work related land policies
  • Experience in conflict mitigation strategies and risk analysis
  • Team Leader Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of environmental and natural resources law and policies
  • Thorough knowledge of land administration systems including drafting laws and policies
  • Working knowledge of land regularization and administration programmes
  • Working experience as consultant in EU funded projects
  • Familiar with South Sudan context
  • Fluent in spoken and written English

Education:

  • A Master’s Degree of equivalent in Law, Land Law, Land Tenure or Environmental Law

Anticipated Project Start Date:15th January 2015

Project Duration: 2 years (400 working days)

Project Location: The position would be stationed in Juba, with occasional travel to targeted states and districts.
