The purpose of the post is to effectively implement and respond to the technical needs of the education in emergencies component of the World Vision (WV) South Sudan Conflict Response program. The Specialist will identify, design, implement and monitor quality education response programs to the emergency and transitional situation, including strengthening coordination in the education sector at regional, state and local levels.

Required:

BED in Pedagogy or Educational Planning. 2 - 5 years in education related position / 2 years in teaching, supervision and education personnel level. Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written).

Has solid background in education in emergency particularly education in emergency curriculum packages and deliverables. Approved knowledge in pedagogy or educational planning. Excellent training skills in defined education components. Experience in education project management, monitoring and supervision. Excellent knowledge in children in emergency context play space, play to learn and learning to learn, environment and personal hygiene, restoration, etc. Enthusiastically and energetic to make a difference upon children education in emergency situation. Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both within and outside the organizations, under stressful situations. Excellent leadership, analytical, negotiating, communication and advocacy skill. Excellent capacity in facilitating training and preparing user friendly manuals and toolkits. Has strong networking, team spirit, partnership, coordination and harmony skills. Willing to adapt with new working environment, new challenges, colleagues and work. Proven knowledge on building the capacity of stakeholders in the area of child functional literacy, basic operation, school improvement options and leadership skills.

Security Officer , WFP Food Assistance Mobile Team, Upper Nile Zone, World Vision South Sudan

To support the Senior Security Manager/Response Manager through the World Food Programme (WFP) Food Assistance Mobile Team in ensuring that effective security measures are appropriately planned for and addressed within the adequate context. Lead in the optimisation of organizational security and the mitigation of operational risks for ministry effectiveness by establishing security systems and mechanisms for institutionalising an organizational culture and practice of safety and security.

Required:

Police/Law Enforcement Training. No previous criminal record or convictions. Confirmed employment of the security officer is contingent on him/her passing the HEAT training course within 90 days of employment (probation period). At least three (3) years experience in a proven security field (public, private, and government or NGO sectors). Minimum (2) years experience working with UN Agency / NGO plus field security experience.

Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering training.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure (particularly in a crisis situation). Ability to communicate well in English (verbal and written) – particularly in a crisis situation. Valid Passport and Drivers License.

First Aid qualified. Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Practical knowledge of tools, mechanisms and procedures for personal and organizational security. Professional - behave in professional manner at all times and demonstrate ability to represent the organization well at interagency meetings. Demonstrated personal values, attitudes and behaviours that are consistent with World Vision Core Values.

Food Assistance Officer, Mobile Team, Upper Nile Zone, World Vision South

To support Food Assistance Manager in the implementation of food and Cash program, ensuring that the food/cash program achieve its goals and objectives and compliance to World Vision and Donor standards in the management of food/cash commodities from the point of receipt, storage, dispatch, distribution, monitoring, documentation, accounting and reporting are established, reinforced and maintained.

Required:

Extensive exposure to food aid programs (minimum 3 years). Knowledge of the Sphere standards, Code of Conduct for Red Cross/ Red crescent, Humanitarian Accountability Partnerships (HAP) and other international humanitarian standards. Knowledge and experience of ensuring Commodities standards, Cash Based Program standards and coordination and management of Food For Assets as defined and set out by FPMG.

Knowledge of commodities & logistics operations, preferably within WV context, specifically those that relate to food distributions, warehousing, reporting, tracking, monitoring etc. Knowledge of different capacity building initiatives. Knowledge of Excel spreadsheet, or Word program, fax and e-mail. Ability to effectively develop rapport and relate to donors, NGOs, counterparts, and government agencies. Must be willing to travel and a flexible approach to living conditions. Fluency in English is essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Having demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Organised, efficient, and able to work long hours to meet deadlines. Willingness to work under pressures in unstable security and remote location with basic necessities a big plus.
