Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic international, non-governmental organization which works to reduce violence and protect civilians in situations of violent conflict and its aftermath, mostly through the deployment on the ground of multinational teams of civilians.
In South Sudan, NP has 13 field teams providing thematically focused protection programming in child protection, gender based violence protection and prevention, displacement (IDPs, refugees and returnees, inter-communal violence reduction and conflict early warning/early response). This country programme is growing rapidly responding to the dynamic, high needs environment in South Sudan.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Programme Officer to join our South Sudan team. The Programme Officer works with the Programme Development team to establish and maintain donor relationships, write proposals, monitor and evaluate projects implimentation, report to donors and manage grants.
The successful candidate has as at least two years of experience in a similar position. He/she combines creativity and innovation with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. S/he has excellent oral and written communication skills, a demonstrable interest in civilian protection/violence reduction, and has a track record of writing succesful proposals. She thrives in a mulitcultural environment, has is a collaborative team player, and is comfortable living and working in highly fluid and insecure environment.
