Specific Tasks
- Support cluster coordination fora/meetings in aspects related to information management:
- Prepare cluster meetings minutes
- Maintain an updated contact list of partners, WASH Cluster State Focal Points, donors, and other parties interested in WASH information
- Information System Management
- Maintain and further develop the WASH database on the 4Ws (who does what, where, and when), monthly WASH activity and stock reporting, and emergency WASH response activities
- Extend capacity mapping of cluster partners
- Prepare monthly analysis of WASH activities on national, state, and county level, and emergency WASH response information for situation reports
- Streamline methods to share information by maintaining the WASH Cluster website and by using other web-based resources, e-mail, written reports, and verbal feedback at cluster meetings.
- Develop an updated IM strategy to guide activities and support technical problem solving.
- Coordinate with other clusters and their Information Management Officers to ensure complimentary data products with their IM systems and cross-sectoral analysis of information on humanitarian response.
- Coordinate with relevant Unicef information management staff to ensure WASH Cluster information systems are linked with internal Unicef systems.
- Work together with OCHA to produce up-to-date maps of WASH needs and responses.
- Support the cluster to collate and develop an archive for WASH assessments and interventions, and program data and information from partners and Government.
- On a regular basis, produce summary reports and analyses for review and consultation with the Cluster Coordination team. On an ad-hoc basis, produce summaries, analyses and briefings based on WASH information in the country.
- Liaise with the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI) to ensure WASH Cluster information is provided to the government in appropriate and helpful ways.
Expected Deliverables
• Information collection and analysis system for WASH-related information in South Sudan further maintained and developed.
• Routine and ad-hoc information products (analyses, reports, maps) on WASH needs and responses.
• Information Management strategy for WASH information collection, analysis, and dissemination at county, state, and national level.
Reporting
The IMO will report to the WASH Cluster Coordinator.
Expected background (Qualifications & Experience)
• University degree is required. University degree in Geographic Sciences, Information Management or Statistics is preferred; also a university advanced degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in information management, biostatistics and database development required, preferably in emergency settings. WASH experience preferred.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Demonstrated ability for leadership in context of partnership-building and consensual decision-making.
• Demonstrated team-building and information management skills.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
