The Humanitarian Programme Assistant performs a variety of standard administrative processes ensuring high quality and accuracy of work. The Programme Assistant works in close collaboration with staff from the Operations, Programme and projects in the CO and other UN Agencies to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.
UNFPA country office has developed an elaborate humanitarian response action plan to scale up its response on the provision of life saving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and gender based violence (GBV) services in IDP sites and refugee camps as well as cushioning the needs of other affected communities. While the focus is on the acute crisis of IDPs, the plans also cover host communities.
The UNFPA plans are components under the Health and Protection cluster of the crisis response plan, that is:
a) Sexual and Reproductive Health, including procurement and distribution of ERH kits and life saving maternal health drugs; and a focus on young people;
b) Gender Based Violence;
c) Data for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; and,
d) Communication.
These are supported by strengthened resource mobilisation and integration of security concerns in programme planning.
