Project Summary:

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Program Office requires support to assist USAID/South Sudan to effectively monitor, evaluate, and relay information about funded interventions. The Monitoring and Evaluation Support Project (MESP) will provide USAID/South Sudan with flexible, demand-driven technical, analytic, advisory, training, monitoring, evaluation, and related support services for performance measurement, planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, activity mapping, and performance information management and dissemination activities.

Position Summary:

Assist the USAID/South Sudan Health Team in evaluating the Integrated Service Delivery Project (ISDP) to identify project successes as well as opportunities for mid-course corrections. The technical experts will support the team leader in proposing suitable methodology to allow triangulation of data to inform findings, conclusions, and recommendations. The technical expert will contribute to the development of a final report reflecting the evaluation results. The position is principally located in Juba, with possible travel throughout the country as dictated by the final work plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the team leader to conduct the evaluation, develop methodologies, conduct data collection, analysis and report writing.
  • Participate in a debrief with USAID/South Sudan at the end of the evaluation.

Qualifications:

  • Mid-level technical expert with 7–10 years of experience in Public Health, Health Economics, Evaluations, development studies or any other relevant Primary Health Care area (this should include a postgraduate degree in a relevant area).
  • Experience in research and demonstrated knowledge of conducting qualitative studies.
  • Local experience as well as experience in Africa or/and other similar setting will be an added advantage.
