In South Sudan, PIN has been operational since end 2012 with reintegration / resilience focused programs in Central Equatoria and Northern Bahr el Ghazal. Since 2013 PIN has focused on interventions seeking to ensure sustainable livelihoods among vulnerable populations in Northern Barh el Ghazal. Since the spark of the current conflict related emergency, PIN is supporting IDPs camps in Juba outside the UNMISS compound. The programs are focusing particularly on the IDPs camp management, health and WASH services for IDPs.
Location: Juba, with frequent field trips
Starting date: ASAP
Length of Contract: 6 months with possibility of extension
Main role of Program Support Officer is to ensure program and operations support in cooperation and under the supervision of the Head of Mission and local team.
Main responsibilities:
- Day-to-day project management
- Assistance with the logistics of the mission
- Support all aspects of donor reporting
- Improve data collection and management processes in the field
- Synthesis and analysis of data in order to provide input for the Head of Misison to steer programme implementation, as well as for internal and donor reporting.
- Assist the Head of Mission in addressing ad hoc donor requests or catalysing action on specific projects or components of projects.
- Provide support to Head of Mission to liaise with external partners, and represent PIN in coordination and information meetings with other actors when required
Suitable candidate has:
- Experience with project management
- Understanding of principles of humanitarian and development work
- Degree in International Development / related field is an advantage
- Excellent working knowledge of English
- Experience with team management
- Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity
- Knowledge/experience of the region is an advantage
- Working experience in humanitarian context is an advantage
