strengthening ACF’s Nutrition monitoring and evaluation in South Sudan, leading the Surveillance Team in conducting Nutrition Surveys as well as in Capacity building of partners

Key activities in your role will include:

  • In collaboration with the Nutrition Cluster, Nutrition Information Working group, UNICEF and other partners as well as the ACF Sr. Nutrition Coordinator develop the Surveillance Strategy and objectives
  • In coordination with other departments at ACF , develop the operational plan for the project. Elaborate on critical areas of success and ensure that the project achieves its objectives
  • Recruit where necessary, brief and train the surveillance team. Provide technical guidance as well as leadership in steering the team to achieve its goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality and efficiency of data collection and analysis. Shares information with relevant counterparts (internal and external). Elaboration of Donor Reports as well as Technical Reports in collaboration with relevant focal points.
  • Support in the capacity development of partners in conducting of SMART surveys. Provide technical guidance, trainings and encourage active information exchange among partners.
  • Represent ACF in relevant forums. Actively participate and collaborate with relevant authorities, nutrition forums at national, state and local level to ensure smooth implementation of surveys

You’re a seasoned Emergency Nutrition Surveillance professional

  • You have a Master’s degree in statistics, epidemiology, nutrition by research or related field
  • You have experienced at least 3 years in managing nutrition assessments, research and surveys in a humanitarian setting.
  • You have practice using Epi- Info, ENA, Excel, Access, SMART and other related computer software packages

You aim to deliver innovative, quality programming

  • You are highly organized & pay attention to small details. You are passionate about finding creative solutions & innovative approaches to long-standing & critical problems.
  • You intuitively adapt how you communicate technical analysis, mission strategy, as well as donor policies & procedures, to suit different audiences - both verbally & in writing.
  • You are able to consolidate & polish contributions from a large team to ensure reports are comprehensive & coherent. You identify & support less experienced technical managers to improve their reporting skills.
