Oxfam South Sudan has an interesting opening for a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator.
The Coordinator will ensure the development and implementation of an effective and coordinated MEAL framework and system for humanitarian, development, and campaigns programmes in South Sudan, in accordance with Oxfam standards. The MEAL Coordinator will build the capacity of MEAL staff and programme teams, in addition to partners, and provide specialist advice and support to strengthen respective MEAL mechanisms and contribute effectively to the Oxfam South Sudan overall Programme Quality objectives.
Key responsibilities include: capacity building, evidence-based programme design and learning, MEAL systems implementation.
Some key skills required for this position:
- Experience of assessing staff capacity and to plan and deliver training and coaching. Demonstrable experience in building and reinforcing the capacity of the MEAL team, other programme staff, and partners according to the needs and Oxfam minimum standards.
- Skills in remote management are essential, for strengthening and monitoring Oxfam and partner MEAL skills, and ensuring accountability.
- Degree in relevant area (e.g. social sciences, development studies) from a recognised university. Experience of work in at least one of these areas: humanitarian, development, or campaigns MEAL, particularly in protection mainstreaming.
- Good technical knowledge and strong demonstrated experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning, including participatory approaches
- Well-developed conceptual, critical, and analytical thinking with the ability to convey complex information in a straightforward, interesting way, and influencing this to a wider audience
Duty Station: Juba, with field travel
