About the role
Crown Agents are pleased to be recruiting a Team Leader-Conflict Advisor for a peacebuilding and fund management opportunity in South Sudan.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Lead a team in the advancement of programme objectives; establishing the conditions for a sustained peace by building resilience to conflict among target communities and stimulating more inclusive political, socio-economic and cultural institutions
Provide strategic direction for the programme, including the communication strategy, implementation of the fund, and monitoring, evaluation and learning
Ensure technical quality and oversight in relation to the delivery of all programme activities and deliverables
Ensure project management practices and fiduciary management is compliant with Crown Agents and programme contractual rules and regulations
Act as primary liaison in-country between Crown Agents and the client
Provide timely and accurate programme and financial reporting to the client and Crown Agents headquarters as required
Ensure adherence to duty of care obligations, including oversight of effective safety and security management within the programme
Undertake other duties as directed by the Project Director
About you
Essential Requirements
- Master’s degree in Peacebuilding, Conflict Studies or other relevant area or experience in lieu of qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience; with minimum five years management experience in fragile states
- Strong understanding of programme delivery within fragile and conflict affected States
- Strong understanding and proven experience of working with different donors and familiarity with their policies and requirements
- Proactive and flexible with the ability to multi-task and be solution-focused
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and cultural sensitivity able to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
- Ability to manage diverse teams, including recruitment and remote management
- Experience of operations management at a senior level with the humanitarian or stabilisation sectors
- In depth understanding of duty of care and safety and security management
- Good understanding of anti-corruption standards and procedures
- Understanding of safeguarding and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment within humanitarian or stabilisation contexts
- Fluent in English
- Experience in South Sudan desirable
