CMMB is a global non–governmental, humanitarian and development organization with a special focus on making healthcare available to all. CMMB with funding from CDC/PEPFAR has been implementing a set of clinical and preventative interventions to stop the spread of HIV infection in Western Equatoria State (WES) of South Sudan since 2009. CMMB South Sudan is urgently seeking suitable candidates for the following vacancy:
Job Title: PMTCT Nurse/Midwife
Duty Station: (1) Ezo PHCC (2) Yangiri PHCC
Closing Date: August 9, 2013 – 5:00PM
Effective Date: Immediately
Note: This position is open to South Sudanese Nationals only.
Roles and Responsibilities
- As PMTCT in-charge, supervise the junior staff at the site and reporting to the PMTCT team leader.
- Ensure all pregnant women access HIV Counseling and Testing (HCT) during ANC at the PHCC and fixed outreach stations.
- Conduct post-test counseling sessions highlighting MTCT interventions according to the National Guidelines of South Sudan
- Assist ANC women in the selection of appropriate community support through referrals.
- Ensure follow ups and adherence to treatment of HIV exposed babies.
- Compile monthly and quarterly progress reports as per the reporting template and submit timely to the Team leader/M&E manager.
- Ensure adherence on ARVs is maintained. Conduct ongoing adherence counseling.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or pertinent to your position
Required Qualifications
- Certificate/registered nurse with an additional training in midwifery
- At least two years’ experience in nursing/midwifery from a recognized health facility
- Ability to work well within a team and build positive team spirit.
- Highly self-motivated, ability to pay attention to details and work under pressure in a cross-cultural environment.
- Ability to plan, organize, manage time to meet deadlines.
- Previous experience with any NGO oriented work is an added advantage
