MISSION STATEMENT

Motivated by Christ's love, this position plays a key role in promoting the wholistic ministry of Food for the Hungry (FH) through the framework of the organization’s vision, “God called and we responded until physical and spiritual hungers ended worldwide.” In order to accomplish this vision, FH’s mission is to “walk with churches leaders and families in overcoming all forms of human poverty by living in healthy relationship with God and His creation.”

POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION

The Finance Coordinator will report hierarchically to the Finance Manager.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The position holder is expected to advise projects on their budget utilization and implementation of policies and procedures of the organization and that of the respective project donor. He/She is also responsible to organize and conduct training in finance area as deemed necessary to project staff and Government finance officials .review monthly financial report documentation and budget. Follow up on sub grantee advance and liquidation with compliance of the rules and policies of fh and the donor requirement. The position holder will advise the FM on internal status and area of improvement based on reviews.

ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Result #1 30%

1.1. Checks all payments of the Juba H/O for budget and documentation before payment approval.
1.2. Assists/Advices projects and programs departments on their respective budget utilization.
1.3. Regularly visit projects and/or sub-grantees and assist them in financial reporting and internal control related matters.
1.4. Prepares monthly financial reports of projects with variance analysis as appropriate and submit to review and approval of the FM.

Key Result #2 –30%

2.1. Compile donors, projects and programs feed backs on financial reports to take subsequent corrective action.
2.2. Prepares periodic donors reports and regional reports as needed and submit for review and approval of the FM.
2.3. Organize in house training and/or orientation session on finance to projects and HO staff.
2.4. Reviews monthly financial reports of projects as assigned by the FD.

Key Result #3 – 20%

3.1. Prepares annual budget and internal control budget journals and submit to the FD for review and posting.
3.2. Keeps track of the approved grants, maintain a file to keep detailed budgets, subsequent revisions and signed financial reports submitted to donors.
3.3. Coordinates monthly cash flow & financial reporting.

Key Result #4 – 20%

4.1. Liaison with local auditors on field assignment.
4.2. Performs other related duties as assigned by the FM.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Academic Qualification - BA degree in Accounting or Finance management
  • Work Experience 3-4 years of experience in a related field is required.
  • Desirable Trainings - Computer literate (Sun systems knowledge is an advantage)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Proficiency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
