We are acting in a comprehensive way in around fifty countries of Africa, Latin America and Asia, working on more than 500 development and humanitarian action projects, we promote fair trade and social awareness and mobilization campaigns.

Context A political crisis within the Government of South Sudan (GoSS) which began on 15th December 2013 has spilled over into armed conflict based on ethnic divisions. The result of this has been significant movement as people have fled their homes within the capital, Juba, and other areas affected by fighting. The major newly reported concentrations of displaced people are in Central Equatoria, Lakes, Jonglei, Upper Nile and Unity states. In particular over 75,000 people from Jonglei have been displaced to Minkaman and surrounding areas in Awerial County, Lakes State. Oxfam is already based and working in several existing humanitarian programmes in the Country and currently we are setting a WASH and Food Security programme in Awerial (State of Lakes), for displaced people camps and we are planning to open another programme in wau and Jonglei State.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Field Coordinator, the person selected will be the reference and representative of the Organization in the field, co-coordinating the activities of the project and managing all the resources in order to guarantee that the objectives are met in line with the policies and strategies of OI.

Program Quality: Ensure the food security and livelihood programming is technically of high quality and respects Oxfam frameworks, guidelines and international best practice standards, giving technical advice to ensure that programs are implemented efficiently and effectively.

Monitoring and Evaluation: Ensures effective monitoring and evaluation process within OI programs, works closely with field teams to ensure quality of data and effective analysis.

Training and Coaching: Provision of training and coaching to national staff and local partner organisations in technical program areas.

Representation, communication and coordination: represent OI before technical actors in the field ensuring efforts are not duplicated, information sharing and best practice.

Reporting and program development: Participate in all aspects of program design, implementation and and in some cases lead proposal and report development.

Experience and Skills

At least 2 years of experience in food security livelihood program management. Experience in irrigation and water for livelihood programs. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills. At least 4 years experience in international development projects Ability to work and live in a challenging working and living environment. Training, coaching experience. Commitment to the Oxfam principles

Working Conditions:

Contract of employment: Contract for 6 months Starting date: As soon as possible Salary: 32.892,46 euros annual gross salary Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution. Holidays: 27 working days per year Working place: flexibility to work in different Oxfam Intermon projects.
