Tetra Tech ARD, a leading international development consulting firm based in Burlington, Vermont and Washington, D.C., is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified senior level candidates for a Land Registration Expert on a multi-year EU-funded land tenure and property rights program in South Sudan. The program’s overall goal is to enhance secure tenure of land, fisheries forests and other natural resources for smallholders, vulnerable people and communities in Sub-Saharan Africa, and to achieve food security and contribute to the eradication of poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa. This is a full time position, based in South Sudan.
Qualifications and skills:
*A Master’s degree or equivalent in Land administration, Land registration, Land survey, Geographical Information Science, Housing, Agronomy or relevant fields.
*Experience leading initiatives making use of, or developing complex information technology tools.
*Excellent negotiation and communication skills and ability to work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional background.
*Thorough knowledge of land registration and survey systems
*Strong communication and presentation skills both oral and written. The expert must be fluent in spoken and written English, and should have the ability to write analytical, clear and concise technical reports.
*Proven ability to organize and deliver trainings at different levels.
General professional experience:
*Proven capacity to conduct assessments and to provide inputs on institutional strengthening;
*Previous working experience in South Sudan, or in the region, is an advantage.
Specific professional experience:
*A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in work related to land registration, remote sensing land survey, titling and registration operations. records management, or information technology systems
*In-depth knowledge of the subject of GIS, mapping, land registration and cadastral systems.
*Experience in conflict mitigation strategies and risk analysis is an advantage.
*Familiar with at least one land administration and management system in the region is an advantage.
