Its core mission is contributing to the development processes which safeguard and promote the right to health, by acting with an integrated approach on the health needs and by influencing the social-‐economical determinants. CCM aims at improving health conditions of the population in low-‐ income countries and intervenes through projects of international cooperation, education to the world citizenship, advocacy activities and interventions of health promotion in the context of migration processes.*
CC*M**cooperates with the local communities and authorities to strengthen and develop the health systems, to improve accessibility to and the quality of prevention and health care services. CCM cooperates with local organizations and promotes an integrated approach to the health by working directly with other local and international organizations in cross-‐cutting sectors which help the complete well-‐being of the individual.*

I*n**Tonj South CountyofWarrap stateCCMis acting as CHD leading agency supporting* p*ri**m**a**ry* hea*lt**h* ca*r**e* se*r**v**i**ces**,**Nu**triti**on services and secondary health care in the Tonj County Hospital.* In State, CCM is currently implementing health projects in partnership with the Warrap State MoH. The activities implemented include: (I) support to facility based primary health care; (II) community based interventions; (III) public sensitization campaigns on Health and Nutrition; (iv) support to the maternal health and surgery in the Tonj County Hospital.
To ensure smooth implementation of Secondary Health care services in the Tonj County Hospital (Tonj South, Warrap State) CCM intends to recruit:
POSITION: Matron (1)
Duty station: Tonj County Hospital
Contract duration: 3 month (probation period), renewable
The Matron is a key role within CCM Tonj County Hospital project, requiring the activities outlined in the job description below to be fulfilled. Successful candidate is expected to have the ability to develop and improve the functions of the position within the organization.
She/he will be part of a dynamic secondary health care team and will be responsible for providing technical support to the hospital service provision to ensure correct application of standardized nursing procedure and proper management of all patients. She/he will report to CCM Medical Coordinator and to the SMoH Hospital Director..
Objectives and general characteristics To ensure efficient preventive and curative service provision at Tonj County Hospital, in line with CCM implemented projects work-plans, financial availabilities and RoSS-MoH guidelines and protocols.
Facilitate the capacity building of local concerned institutions (CHD) and local health staff;
Collaborate with CCM project team for the timely and effective implementation of project activities;
Key Responsibility
- Provides technical support to the hospital service provision to ensure correct application of standardized nursing procedure and proper management of all patients.
- Identifies Nurse Aids gaps in skills/knowledge and recommends for appropriate training or recruitment of health workers.
- Provides on the job supervision and training on common nursing procedures; including taking vital signs and filling a cardex to all nursing staff.
- Prepares monthly duty roster for both nurses and support staff.
- Assists national medical staff in preparation of patients and other medical supplies ready for ward round and participate actively in the process with the doctor or clinicians.
- Sets up equipment, store and move supplies, or assist with some procedures appropriately whenever necessary.
- Ensures correct usage of standardized drug treatment protocol and proper management of all medical materials and equipment at the facility.
- Provides essential quality nursing care to all patients at OPD and the wards -ensuring all patients receive their treatment at the right time, right dose and through the right route.
- Under guidance of the project manager, maintains and supervises usage/filling of the data collection tools to ensure proper monitoring and evaluation of the services provided.
- Assists the project manager to develop project activities, with emphasis on response to perceived needs as observed within the beneficiary.
- Participates actively in inter-facility and related forums on behalf of the project manager.
- Works with Medical Coordinator to provide input for proposals, reports, assessments, and implementation in consultation with the deputy country representative.
- Performs any other duty as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification
- Diploma/Certificate in Comprehensive Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Certificate of practice registration with a recognized professional body
- Proficiency in English Language-MUST
- Knowledge of Juba Arabic or Dinka language is an added advantage
Other attributes
- At least two years previous working experience with an NGO in similar position of reporting and responsibility;
- Basic knowledge of Anaesthesia;
- Energetic, independent and self-motivated to work in resource limited and harsh environment;
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.

- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Demonstrated budget and expense management skills.
- High flexibility with sensitivity to cultural settings.
