CCM-­‐*Co**m**it**a**t**oCollaborazione Medica is an INGO founded in 1968 in Italy and specialized in the health sector. Its core mission is contributing to the development processes which safeguard and promote the right to health, by acting with an integrated approach on the health needs and by influencing the social-­‐economical determinants. CCM aims at improving health conditions of the population in low-­‐ income countries and intervenes through projects of international cooperation, education to the world citizenship, advocacy activities and interventions of health promotion in the context of migration processes.*
CCM cooperates with the local communities and authorities to strengthen and develop the health systems, to improve accessibility to and the quality of prevention and health care services. CCM cooperates with local organizations and promotes an integrated approach to the health by working directly with other local and international organizations in cross-­‐cutting sectors which help the complete well-­‐being of the individual.
CCM has been continuously in South Sudan since 1983, with main focus on Warrap and Lakes States. In the country, CCM is MoH partner in supporting the development of integrated health and nutrition service delivery, to meet MoH priority targets according to the national health strategies and official guidelines.
In Yirol East of Warrap state CCM is acting as CHD leading agency supporting primary health care services and Nutrition services.In Lakes State, CCM is currently implementing health projects in partnership with the State MoH. The activities implemented include: (I) support to facility based primary health care; (II) community based interventions; (III) public sensitization campaigns on Health and Nutrition.

To ensure smooth implementation of primary health care services in Yirol East County (Lakes State) CCM intends to recruit:

POSITION: Primary Health Care Supervisor (1)
Duty station: Yirol East
Contract duration: 3 month (probation period), renewable

The Primary Health Care Supervisor is a key role within CCM Yirol East project, requiring the activities outlined in the job description below to be fulfilled. Successful candidate is expected to have the ability to develop and improve the functions of the position within the organization.

She/he will be part of a dynamic primary health care team and will be responsible for the planning and implementation of RH related activities in the above-mentioned areas of intervention. She/he will be required to assist in the ordinary ANC/PNC and maternity wards, in order RH care components to be fully integrated within the health system. She/he will report to CCM County Coordinator. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the health and nutrition staff in CCM supported health facilities in the project catchment area.

Objective of the position

Ensure smooth coordination of preventive and curative RH services in CCM areas of intervention, and integrate them within the Primary Health Care Service package offered in Yirol East.

Roles and responsibilities

She/he in particular will:

· She/he will organize and conduct joint routine supervision and monitoring of CCM supported health facilities in the area of intervention;

· She/he will oversee the implementation of all primary health care activities conducted at facility and outreach level, including: epidemiological surveillance, Ante Natal Care (ANC), Maternal and Child Care (MCH), Out patients Care (OPD), Essential Programme on Immunization (EPI), Health Education and Laboratory services;

· She/he will assist in the management of the emergency referral system in the catchment area;

· She/he will assist the health facility staff in the proper collection and registration of relevant health data and patients’ and drugs reports keeping according to DHIS system;

· She/he will organize and implement trainings and refreshment trainings for the local health staff, based on identified training needs and according to MoH trainings guidelines;

· She/he will organize and promote raising awareness and sensitization campaigns on health prevention and access/utilization of primary health services;

· She/he will build the capacities of Village Health Committees (VHCs) to improve community involvement on health related issues in collaboration with local authorities.

· She/he will link with State MoH for a timely follow up on the provision of vaccines, drugs and other medical supplies procured by the federal MoH;

· She/he will ensure the management of local health human resources;

· She/he will periodically report to the County Coordinator on the activities carried out and collaborate with County and State Coordinator for the organization of the monthly and quarterly activities plan.

· If required, she/he will participate in the conduction of need assessments and/or surveys in the project catchment area and assist CCM in the development of new project proposals.

Qualification

  • Minimum Education: Diploma in Midwifery (Nursing certificate/experience is a strong asset);
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in running RH programs in humanitarian contexts (with NGOs/CBOs or public health institutions);
  • Proficiency in English Language-MUST
  • Knowledge of Juba Arabic or Dinka language is an added advantage
